Is the user-mode portion of the Windows 32 subsystem. The csrss.exe file has to be placed in the directory C:WindowsSystem32. It can be another software otherwise.
Csrss stands for client/server run-time subsystem and is an essential subsystem that must be running at all times. Csrss is responsible for console windows, creating and/or deleting threads, and some parts of the 16-bit virtual MS-DOS environment.
WARNING: There is a trojan registered with the same name. The correct csrss process is located at C:\WINDOWS\system32 for Windows XP and shows with no PATH in Daphne main window.
